OZONE Therapy

Ozone therapy is not new. Ozone has been used in medicine since the 1800s. Nikola Tesla patented the first ozone generator in 1896. Ozone is consists of 3 molecules of oxygen and is fairly unstable. Ozone is a toxic gas at higher concentrations, but low dose ozone has many medical benefits.  The medical use of ozone has been around for 150 years. Ozone has been used to treat 114 diseases including HIV and the Ebola virus. German physician first used ozone to successfully treat HIV in 1980 using ozone mixed with blood the procedure is known as Autohemotherapy. In 1989 ozone therapy was found to have anti-tumor properties. In World War I it was used to treat wound infections. Ozone therapy has shown to be effective at treating both SARS and Ebola viruses and more recently the coronavirus. Ozone is an effective treatment for bacteria, viruses, and fungi.  Preliminary studies are showing benefit in treating the coronavirus

Ozone stimulates the production ATP, our body’s primary energy source. Ozone activates the immune system . Today ozone therapy is being used to restore joint integrity and reduce pain by restoring the normal healing process in our joints. This is called prolozone therapy ozone + prolotherapy = prolozone. Prolozone is very effective at reducing pain in joints and stimulating.

How We Use Ozone

MAH ozone treatment is an excellent treatment for all kinds of infections improving energy, and cognitive function.  MAH (major auto hemotherapy) is the most popular form of IV ozone treatment.  In MAH therapy we draw about 100 to 200 cc of blood and mix it with saline and then reinject the mixture.  The chief of the advantage of this method is the lack of side effects.  Ozone can be given directly IV, but is hard on the veins and care must be taken to give it very slowly so it has time to absorb in the blood.  MAH solves these issues because the ozone reacts with the red blood cells in the IV bag to create lipid oxidative products, which can stay active in the blood for several hours: inactivating viruses and killing bacteria in the blood.   MAH is well tolerated by the veins and is generally free of side effects.

UVBI (ultraviolet blood irradiation)

UVBI also creates ozone when the UV light irradiates the blood as it passes through the light chamber.  The UVBI machine contains 3 different bulbs each at a different UV frequency.  We usually combine MAH and UVBI to create a more potent ozone treatment.  The UVBI machine has a single-use crystal mixing chamber that rotates the blood as it passes through the light chamber to increase exposure.  This treatment significantly increases the energy in the blood.  Patients report higher energy and cognitive function after treatment.  A new crystal chamber is used for each patient to ensure no cross-contamination of blood products.

Prolozone Joint Therapy

As we age joints lose collagen and the cartilage deteriorates over time.  Eventually a joint may need to be replaced with an implant.  With prolozone therapy, the cartilage can be regrown and in most cases, surgery can be avoided.  Prolozone therapy consists of a series of joint injections spaced several weeks apart with each treatment a thin layer of cartilage is added to the joint.  After several treatments, there is enough cartilage that the joint pain is gone and normal function is restored.  With continued treatments, the joint space can be restored to normal levels.  Once the joint function is restored it can be maintained with proper nutrition and a follow-up treatment about every 6  to 9 months. Prolozone can be combined with exosomes, stem cells, PRP, and placenta products for faster and more dramatic results.
